[22:30] eagles: Information on how to ignore/silence a user being sent to you via /notice [22:30] -ChatHasan- If someone is flooding you with text, a simple ignore will make your client ignore incoming text from that user, preventing you from getting flooded off. [22:30] -ChatHasan- To ignore a user by his nick, type /ignore nick - to ignore his user@host, so he can't flood you even if he changes nick (recommended), type /ignore nick 3 - OR - /ignore *!*user@*.host.domain [22:30] -ChatHasan- To remove the ignore again, /ignore -r nick (or *!*user@*.host.domain) [22:30] -ChatHasan- If the user is CTCP flooding you, you will need to silence the user. This works almost the same way as ignore, except the syntax is /silence +nick!* to ignore his nick, or /silence +*!*user@*.host.domain. To remove the silence again, switch the + with - [22:30] -ChatHasan- NOTE: Unlike the /ignore command, your "silence" list will be emptied when you reconnect to IRC, so you will need to reset it if you want to continue having the user silenced. The ignore list remains, and will need to be removed manually. For additional information please see the Help that came with your client software.
